Cheryl Kerzner, VP Design & Marketing, Disguise
Everyone loves to be in Disguise! Halloween provides us the brief, but welcome opportunity to escape our “real lives” and become part of the world of fantasy and adventure. It’s the chance to become something different, something exciting, scary, sexy, beautiful, or powerful. We have a free pass one night a year to be anybody or anything we choose. With everything going on in the world, I’m excited for a night that allows us to shift our everyday attire and escape into the wonderful world of Halloween. Halloween is never complete without a great Disguise!
2008 is a great year to become one of our nation’s political finalists Obama or McCain with our hand sculpted masks. Showing up as either candidate is a sure way to add excitement and conversation to any Halloween party! With the addition of a woman to the political ticket this year, our WorldScape costumes are a perfect costume choice – depicting traditionally male characters like a matador or samurai all dressed up as powerful, beautiful women. 2008 is the year of the strong woman!
While we are all feeling national pride, and with a pending election, it occurs to me that arriving in our Marvel Captain America costume complete with shield can earn big points at any Halloween event. Save the world while arriving as a quintessential American hero, and escape to the vast world of Marvel Heroes and Heroines.
Our kids love to escape their world of homework and chores too, and morph into their favorite cartoon and comic book heroes, or fulfill their childhood fantasy of being able to fly.
They can conquer evil in our Power Rangers and Ninja costumes, live the fantasy of being a toy that comes to life with Woody or Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, or Abby Cadabby, the newest member of the Sesame Street cast of characters.
As a little girl, I loved escaping into the world dressing up in a costume provides. (Well, actually, I still do!)
Our Barbie, Tinker bell and Disney Princess costumes & accessories let little girls escape into the world of their favorite characters from movies and DVD’s they have watched hundreds of times. Over the last 2 years, we have seen millions of girls aspire to be the singing sensation Hannah Montana and dress up in her cool costumes and accessories.
With high gas prices, hurricanes, global warming, and 100 other things we worry about each day, I’m happy to escape this Halloween into the world of fantasy and adventure that a great costume provides.
