I bought some BLACK nail polish and lipstick yesterday to complete the look of the costume. My husband has a few comments to make and a few jokes until I informed him that the lipstick and nailpolish wasn't for me I am wearing blood red lipstick but for HIM as I had purchased him the Universal Frankenstein costume and he has to wear he black lippy and polish!

for me we always have a neighborhood parade that my family puts on and at eight o'clock every christmas eve our neighbors and friends pull out our floats and parade around the developments wishing everyone a happy Christmas, Hot Coco is always a must. lol so am i the only one who has a Christmas eve tradition??

I bought the Brooke shoes. They are just great so comfortable. They look so high and like they would be terrible but they were great I had them on all night , even played games in them! I did have a few people say they look like stripper shoes...??? My response was "How do you know?" LOL

I just returned from our local Wal-Mart.... Their Halloween stuff was 90% off the lowest marked price. I got 2 carts full of stuff for less then $30.00. WOW

T-shirt costumes were .10 reg 20.00

Spider rings were .20 for 50 rings reg 2.00

treat bowles .25

Lights .10

Cant remember what everything else was. Lost receipt. Oh well, will not be returning anything anyway.

Wal-mart could not tell me if this priceing was for every store or not, but at those prices it is worth looking into.

Planning for 2010 is at full speed. Hope to have it done by July this year.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on here much but I've been very busy catching up with work since I got back! Plus my brother came up from Sydney for a visit so we've been busy catching up. Anyway here's a rundown of what happened on the cruise!

Day One

The ship was delayed, we were supposed to board at 11am and leave at 2pm but instead they didn't start boarding until 2pm and the ship didn't leave until 5pm. They had a sailaway party on the upper decks but Scott and I didn't spend much time at it - we were too busy exploring the ship! There were several bars and nightclubs, 3 restaurants, a buffet, a pizzeria, 2 swimming pools, 2 spas, an adults-only deck, an ice cream bar, a library, an art gallery, a casino, a show lounge, a games arcade, an internet cafe, shops, a beauty salon, a day spa, a gym... Man the list seems to go on forever! I took my camcorder too and filmed everything so I'll have to see if I can get the video uploaded on Facebook or something. I already have some photos on Facebook so check them out if you have my page! If you don't I'll post the link later since I don't have access to Facebook at work :-P

Day Two

There are heaps of activities available throughout the day as well as the evening. Scott and I found that we weren't interested in much that went on during the day (who wants to go to napkin folding?!) but the night activities were good. We spent the daytime doing things like watching movies, relaxing on the deck, or going to the casino (I lost $200 there over the whole trip but I have no regrets! Lol. I played a lot of blackjack and roulette). However, one thing I did go to during the first full day was a Michael Jackson dance class! We had an instructor showing us how to do "Thriller" which was so much fun :) Scotty taped me doing that too, LOL.

We also went to Bingo in the afternoon - it was on every Sea day and we never missed it! Unfortunately we also never won anything :-P But they made it really fun. Such as, if anyone said Bingo and they didn't actually have it, it would then be called a Bongo and the person would have to get up on stage and do the chicken dance :) That was great fun.

In the evenings they have shows at 6:30pm and 8:30pm. The first full night there was a girl called Amber Jade who was multi-talented - she sang, tap-danced, and played clarinet AND saxophone. I was really impressed by her and I bought one of her albums after the show, which she signed and I gave it to Mum as a souvenir.

Later that night they had the adults-only Sit Down Comedy Club. When we got there it was packed but there were two spare seats right at the front and Scott said "Let's take those." So we did and then of course the comedian picked on us! He asked us if we live together and I admitted that we both live with his parents, and Scott could have murdered me! Hahaha

Day Three

This was the first of three formal nights so Scotty got all dressed up in his suit and I wore my nice cocktail dress :) We went to dinner at one of the restaurants - I definitely preferred the restaurants over the buffet, the food was outstanding! And the staff were very professional as well as friendly.

We also went to the 6:30 show which was a guy called Mark Kristian who sang and did comedy, but he wasn't my favourite performer of the cruise :-P His jokes were kind of corny and you get sick of being sang to all the time, even if he is a good vocalist.

Day Four

After two days at sea we finally arrived at our first port - Noumea in New Caledonia. I wasn't aware that French is the main language there! We were fascinated just by all the advertisements and whatnot in French. It was very pretty there too. Scott and I had booked a glass bottom boat ride so we did that first thing in the morning. That was really nice, and we saw a turtle :) as well as many other things, lol. And we got to feed the fish French baguettes, hahaha. After the boat ride we walked around town for a bit, but we didn't buy anything because neither of us really wanted to buy souvenirs that early and we didn't even bother getting the right currency.

When we got back to the ship in the afternoon we watched Bedtime Stories on the big screen in the nightclub (they have two or three movies playing on the big screen a day), and then later in the evening we had Country and Western night. I wore my cowgirl costume but I was a little self-conscious because it was shorter than anyone else's costume! They also had a best-dressed contest but I didn't even get a nomination :-P I think it was probably because they wanted to reward people who had made their costumes themselves, but a lot of people there were saying that I should have won, lol. We also did a bit of line dancing which was fun!

Day Five

Back at sea again - the evening show was both Amber Jade and Mark Kristian again. Once again I really enjoyed Amber's performance but wasn't too thrilled by Mark's. Both of them got off the ship the next day when we got to Fiji.

They also had a Bee Gees and Abba night, but unfortunately it was one of the themes we weren't aware of and we didn't have costumes for it. No fun without costumes, so Scott and I didn't even go to that one :-P Also Scott wasn't feeling very well, we actually had to leave the 6:30 show early because he felt sick, and soon after we got back to the cabin he threw up :-P He was vomiting all night, he had this gastrointestinal virus. My poor baby! :(

Day Six

We arrived at Suva, the capital of Fiji. But poor Scotty still wasn't feeling well so we both stayed in the cabin for most of the day watching movies and whatnot. I didn't want to go without Scott :-P I didn't really mind missing out on Suva - it was only the first of 3 ports in Fiji and it was the most civilised part where the city is. I was more interested in seeing the less civilised areas of Fiji. Plus the weather wasn't very good that day :-P

Fortunately Scott was feeling much better by the evening and we went to the 6:30 show to see James Gallea, a really funny magician who did some amazing tricks :) Before the show, however, Scott's sister Katie got a nice surprise - her boyfriend Andrew got up on stage and proposed to her :) I got that on video too, it was so sweet :) She said yes of course!

It was also 50's and 60's rock 'n roll night. Unfortunately though I didn't realise that the theme was "50's and 60's rock 'n roll" - I thought it was just "rock 'n roll." So my lime green spiky punk wig wasn't really useful. We didn't go to that one either, spent most of the evening in the casino instead. We also went to dinner at one of the restaurants to celebrate Katie and Andrew's engagement :)

Day Seven

We arrived in Savusavu, Fiji. Since Scott was over his virus we went ashore and wandered along the main drag. Everything in Fiji is so cheap! I bought a ukelele and a dress from one shop - the dress was only about AU$14 and it's got tropical flowers all over it, very nice! And they had fireworks for sale at one shop, hehehe... It was soooooooooo hot there though! It was another cloudy, rainy day but it was so muggy! I don't think I've ever been that hot even in Australia.

When we got back to the ship in the afternoon we went to a screening of Bolt in the Terrace Lounge which was really good. I also went to the beauty salon and got a frangipani scalp ritual, which involves a hair treatment, scalp massage, and neck and shoulder massage. All for AU$30 :) I never went to the day spa because it was unbelievably expensive - AU$1,000 for Scott and I to get a back massage together! So I stuck to the beauty salon.

They also had disco night, another theme we weren't aware of :-P I'm not a huge fan of disco anyway so we went to the casino again instead, lol.

Day Eight

We arrived in Port Denarau, Fiji. Scott and I had booked a half-day trip to a place called South Sea Island. This was easily the best day of the cruise :) The island was very small and very tropical; you feel so isolated and relaxed. We went out on the catamaran and went snorkelling (I LOVED snorkelling, it's such an experience!), lay on the beach and I got another massage while I was there too. It was such a beautiful place! We didn't want to leave, lol. But when we did we went back to the Port and got souvenirs and ice cream before we went back to the ship.

Unfortunately though, by the time we got back I was starting to feel ill and I was worried that I was getting what Scott had, which didn't look very pleasant at all. Also the captain had announced that anyone who had that gastro virus should report it - Andrew reported having it as well and he was quarantined to his cabin for 3 days! He missed out on Vanuatu completely, poor thing. Luckily Scott was over his before they made that announcement and mine didn't get any worse than a funny feeling in my stomach, so it was OK. They also had Island Night that night and I'd been intending to wear my Dashboard Hula Girl costume to that, but I wasn't feeling well enough to go. It sucked, it felt like we hardly had any costumes for the many theme nights and the one night I did have a costume I was too sick to go :-P

Day Nine

We were at sea for another day but we spent most of it in the cabin since I still wasn't feeling well.

Day Ten

We arrived in Port Vila, Vanuatu. I still wasn't feeling quite right but Scott and I had booked 3 tours that day so I just had to grin and bear it. But it turned out that the tours were so great that I didn't have time to think about my stomach feeling funny :) We went on a jet boat ride first thing in the morning - I've done 2 jet boat rides in New Zealand before but it's not the same as Vanuatu - the water is so blue there! So it was like sightseeing crossed with a thrill ride. After that we did this thing called an underwater walk - they gave us regulators and weight belts and we walked along the ocean floor feeding the fish and admiring the coral. I think I caught a cold doing that though because I had a nasty cough for the rest of the week after that :-P

After the underwater walk we were supposed to go wet 'n wild zorbing. But the bloody cruise line had put the wrong time on the forms so the zorbing left before we got back from the underwater walk :-P They gave us a refund because it was their mistake, but even so I was disappointed to miss out. I was looking forward to zorbing. Anyway in the afternoon Scott and I walked around town a bit more and got some souvenirs before we went back to the ship.

Day Eleven

We were due to port in Mystery Island, Vanuatu, but the weather was so rough that we couldn't so we had another sea day instead. Mystery Island is basically uninhabited so all we would be doing was snorkelling and swimming, etc. again anyway. No shops or anything there! Also we were so tired after our day in Port Vila that we ended up sleeping for half the day anyway.

The evening show was really good that night as well - we had a guy called Brian G who could play guitar, violin and keyboard as well as sing and do great impressions. He did 27 short versions of famous songs by singers like Johnny Cash and Michael Jackson, and he even did a rap about Starbucks, lol. It was very entertaining.

It was also 70's disco night - I could have taken my 70's disco mama costume if I had been aware of that theme, but once again we weren't told :-P So we missed out on that one.

Day Twelve

We arrived at the Isle of Pines, New Caledonia. The place only has about 1,500 people living there. There was only one pub on the whole island and a few market stalls, that was all we saw. We spent the day snorkelling and sunbaking before going back to the ship since there wasn't much else to do. Not that snorkelling isn't great! But I got a bit cold after a short while and couldn't go back in the water again. It was great fun though.

We had another comedian for the evening show - my personal opinion was that he was good but not as good as the guys from the Sit Down Comedy Club. Later in the evening they had the Crew Talent Show, but when we got in there we found it absolutely packed! We spotted one guy sitting in the centre of 3 seats so I went over and asked him if we could sit down, and he said he was saving the seats for his wife and daughter. I told him that you couldn't reserve seats and he pretty much told me "Tough luck." So I went to a staff member and he told us that we were right and to just sit down, but the problem was that although they could make him let us sit down, they couldn't make him let us sit together. If he stayed where he was we would both be sitting on either side of this douchebag, so we ended up just going back to the cabin and watching Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past. It was one of those little things that really angered me though - we should have sat there anyway just to spite him.

Day Thirteen

Two more sea days ahead of us before we were due back in Brisbane. At lunchtime we watched an ice carving demonstration - this guy made a barracooda (dunno how you spell it :-P) out of a solid block of ice which was amazing to watch. Then Scott and his father went in a table tennis tournament (both lost but Scott stayed in longer than his dad, haha), and then we went into the bar next door to watch people playing in the Nintendo Wii Crosslinks Challenge.

It was also a formal night that night so I went to the Beauty Salon again in the evening. This time I got the works - a facial, hand and foot massages, scalp massage, neck and shoulder massage, hair treatment and a dust of makeup to finish off. It was very relaxing :) Scott and I went to the evening show when I was finished but it wasn't really our taste - it was just people performing songs from musicals, so we left in the first ten minutes and went back to the casino. Later on though they had the traditional champagne waterfall, made up of 371 champagne glasses :) And after that they had another session at the Sit Down Comedy Club. Scott and I made sure to sit further towards the back this time!

Day Fourteen

We read in the newspaper the day before that there was going to be a talent show for the passengers (the moment I'd been waiting for!) so I signed up in one of the bars at 11am. Later I watched the others play shuffleboard on the top deck (which they abandoned pretty quickly because the game is terrible, lol), and then we went to the last Bingo session (which had a $10,000 jackpot!). No luck for us there though. After that it was time for the talent show. There were only four acts - the first was this old couple singing this horribly repetitive song. Scott told me later he thought it was a total waste of time! lol. I was up second and I played Don't Stop Movin' by S Club 7 on my flute - I was nervous as hell, shaking the whole time, but I didn't stuff up so it was all good. The third act was this guy who was trying to impersonate Benny Hill but he got stage fright, forgot his lines and walked off halfway through his act, poor bloke. The last act was a couple who had been dancing together for years - they were really good. There were no prizes though so no winner was announced.

After the passenger talent show we went to the usual evening show and it was the best one of the whole cruise :) They started off with a laser show which was so amazing. They had the passengers who had regularly going to the Michael Jack dance classes come up and do "Thriller" (glad I only went to the first one, lol). Then they had circus performers with hula hoops and a unicycle, and a group of singers who totally took the piss out of tourists which was very funny. They also had a guy singing who dressed up as Shirley Bassey, hahaha.

Day Fifteen

Time to go home! The ship got into Brisbane at 6am so we had one last breakfast in the restaurant before we took a taxi home. And that's about it!
