    Brain and Heart Molds

Hey does anyone know a recipe for the brain and heart molds.  I would like them to look creepy and realistic as possible;)

I remember I was watching Good Eats with Alton Brown a few years ago and he had a special about gelatin. Here is his recipe, it looked really realistic. Give it a try. Here's a link to his recipe.

I ran my mouth out off a bit too much, oh what did I say? You just laugh it off, it was all okay.  And we'll all float on okay...

That's great! I hope the gelatin comes out perfect.. I know it's hard for me to get the gelatin out of the mold... that's the hardest part!

I hope so too. I am going to try them for a Halloween dinner a few nights before the party so I can practice and make sure it tastes good. I'll let you know. :)  I have never had panna cotta before... but it sounds good.

Sounds great. It's good to practice. I can't wait for the update :) I had panna cotta once, it was nice and creamy but slightly jiggly, not overly sweet too.

    Re: Brain and Heart Molds

My tip for getting gelatin out without compromising the mold - Freeze the geletin, not solid but so the outter part is hard. Dip the mold's outside in boiling hot water for just a moment, then litterally pop it out like you would an ice cube tray. If it's still not quite coming out, dip another moment. You want the mold to thaw enough to let it go, but not melt the geletin, which is why I freeze it first. Gives it more time before much factor is an issue.

Don't look at me! I'm just the passenger!
