It is traditional at our house to make caramel apples and meringue ghosts.

Any traditions you guys have ??

Every yr my oldest sister would make pumpkin cookies & popcorn balls, she passed away in 2002, miss her dearly.. ever yr her daughter, my daughter & I decide who will make what, the 1st yr after my sister passed away we got together making these, it was heartbreaking but we made it threw. The pumpkin cookies & popcorn balls don't taste like her's but if we imagine then they taste like her's. 

Those meringue ghosts are yummy!  We love making all kinds of things. During Halloween we make as many halloween related recipes as we can. We like to have halloween dinners and eat/drink from our halloween tableware.

During Christmas we make lots of treats. Our favorite is Christmas eve making giant gingerbread boys (we use sugar cookie recipe) and decorate them and eat them with a big mug of hot chocolate while we watch christmas movies.

At halloween time we always make apple pie and hide a penny in it wrapped in greaseproof paper who ever gets it gets the luck.

Lollipop Ghosts

• Tootsie Pops
• Tissues
• Yarn
• Markers

1. Drape tissue over Lollipop
2. Secure around lollipop by tying a piece of yarn around neck of ghost (where round lollipop meets stick)
3. Using marker, draw on eyes and mouth. (Draw facial features by quickly dotting onto tissue, as the marker will bleed.)

OHHHHHHH! I use to love to make those when I was younger. I will have to make some for grandbaby to daycare.

There are some great recipes in the Rachel Ray Everyday magazine for Oct., and last year there were too.  :)  It's fun to make some New Favorites to add to the old stand-byes, too.
