 That sounds sad the poor old man probably didn't have anything else to give you. At least he gave you something it was probablyall he had. Sorry  i'm a sucker for old ppl espically ones who don't have much but try anyway.

My worst treat was a ruler.  Not even a good one, but one of those little rinky dinky plastic ones.  Ugh!

Btw, I like candy corn.  It's a Halloween staple.

 The yucky peanut butter candy that comes in the orange and black waxed paper.  Ewwww.  Pennies are pretty bad too.

Candy corn is good, but not when it's loose in the goodie bag, sticking to stuff and picking up lint!  I had that happen to me once.  LOL  This has been the funniest thread so far, I think.

i second the orange and black taffies. i'll take a toothbrush over those any day!

i have to comment on the tooth bursh comment. thats funny. I know a lot of denist joke about kids eating candy b/c they will have them as patients. thats sad. but i think its a good idea to give out toothbrush, howeve i doubt a kid would think so. Your prob. right he did get the tooth brushes for free.

Mine was a broken pen, last minute thought I guess.

One year I was given a pencil that had little ghosts on it. It would have been cute had it not been so short from being over-sharpened. Also the eraser was hard and didn't work.

 I remember when I was 8 I went trick or treating with my older brother. We knocked at this ladie's door and she threw popsicle sticks in my bag!

some old couple gave me a caramel apple once. i love them and all, but its hard to trick-or-treat when you're trying to not get the caramel on your costume.

I dont really like candy...only chocolates..lol! So I was already set up for disappointment from the get go.  But my friends would trade up with me so it was cool.

I know somewhere out there though, a few people are talking about me for giving the worst treat.  I was a new single mom, and broke, and didnt even realize it was halloween when some kids knocked on my door.  I felt so horrible, cause I had *nothing* so I gave them ramen noodles Ahhh!!!  I turned my porch light off after they left. 

Worse than that (for me) ...there went my meal plan that was supposed to last till I got paid.  Good times.  Now I always buy WAY more candy than I need to (all chocolates!)....still trying to make up for what I did to those kids that night haha!
