    Re: Tricks

I haven't had any tricks played on me, but this thread made me think of the GUMBY who couldn't get up the stairs.......one of my favorite Halloween videos

    Re: Tricks

At about 4 or 5 years old, Trick-Or-Treating, I was made to believe that I had been left in a strange neighborhood. I had never been there before and was pretty scared!

The parental units followed me along the trees and bushes, carefuly concealing themselves so I couldn't see them.

I don't know how far I walked or  for how long. I was too young to know how to judge time. It seemed like forever! I had been taught that if I ever got lost to call the police.

After what seemed like an eternity of searching for the parental units I gave up and knocked on someone's door, that I had seen passing out candy. The couple that answered the door looked at me quite puzzled. When they answered the door I was standing there, tears streaming down my face, scared out of my mind and instead of saying "Trick-Or-Treat" I tearfully said "Will you call the police?" They looked at each other, back down at me and then the woman bent down to my level and asked "What's wrong sweety?"  I sobbingly replied "I am lost."

About that time I hear a couple of familiar laughs from behind me. Both of my parental units were walking up the walk way laughing their heads off. They explained to the couple that they were my parents and had been playing a halloween trick on me. I stood there and listened as they told how they had eluded me while keeping me in their sites the whole time. I was crushed!

I will always remember this like it was yesterday.

    Re: Tricks

That is so funny!  I have really enjoyed your posts.  Especially since you live in WY and have to deal with cold and snow at Halloween.  Here, it's usually 70 degrees and everybody gets too hot in their costumes.
