Do your Halloween props/decorations and costumes outnumber any other holiday items?

I was just wondering how many of us have more Halloween items than any other holiday? My attic is about 2/3 Halloween items.  My husband dreads when it is time to take everything down because he knows that he is about to get a workout from going up and down the ladder.  Also, Halloween has taken over one of our closets inside.

I have more Halloween things than anything. More than Christmas too.

My parents used to have tons of Halloween items. We used to hold huge Halloween parties. They probably had over $3,000 worth of Halloween decorations. One year, a co-worker of my mom's asked to borrow her Halloween stuff because we weren't having a party that year. She never got any of it back, despite numerous phone calls and then she stopped working where my mom worked. I'm still mad about it. I bought some of it. So, now we don't have much Halloween decorations. I would say only a box or two.

Halloween definitely tops the list in our home.  It's getting to the point where it's hard to find a place to store everything!  We actually leave some of the life-size standing props out all year long.  Leatherface looks so cute with a X-mas hat on standing in our dining room!  :-)  lol

I know what you mean about space.  My husband has said that we need to buy a house just to store my Halloween decorations.  I wish we could.  Then I could visit the "Halloween house" whenever I need a quick pick me up.

I feel sorry for you Michelle.  I would be both hurt and disappointed about that situation.  I spent a lot of money over the years.  I think that I am up to about 6 animatronic Halloween items and tons of props and decorations.  Hopefully you will be able to rebuild your stock over time.

I love Halloween and Christmas a lot but in the past I seemed to spend way more time and money on Christmas decorating. I think though with my enjoyment of Horror Movies the axis of holiday decorating has now shifted completely in favor of Halloween. I have a storage space in my basement that I fairly certain is going to be completely full of Halloween stuff just from the props I have bought this year (a couple of life sized items fill that spot rather quickly).

Strange though, I only decorate for Halloween and Christmas and pretty much ignore all other holidays. Not that I dislike Valentine's Day or Easter but they don't carry the same sort of fun to me that Halloween and Christmas do.

Halloween has taken over my storage shed outside!  And some of the Christmas closet.  I spend more money on it every year then on Christmas.  I wish Christmas was all about dressing up, too!  I've contemplated just putting little xmas lights all over the dead things around the house and celebrating that way.

Halloween items definitely outnumber everything else other holiday items in my house. I'm a huge halloween fan, and it is definitely my favorite holiday.

Re: Do your Halloween props/decorations and costumes outnumber any other holiday items?

We have about half as much Halloween as Christmas if you don't count the tree itself, but when we have a house instead of an apartment, that will increase dramatically. Our apartment complex doesn't have trick-or-treating, so decorating for Halloween is pretty much only for our own benefit. When we have a house and will be getting trick-or-treaters as well as having enough space to have good parties, I know we'll be much more thorough with our Halloween decorations!

Well I don't have my own place right now so the Christmas decorations have taken over the basement. But as soon as I have the extra money I am determined to start a massive Halloween Collection. My neighbors go waaay overboard with their Christmas decorations and they literally have Christmas music that playing outside their house all through december. I think it would feel great to irritate them right back with just as much Halloween stuff and then have creepy music playing for just as long and see how they like it.

If I was back in Canada I probably would have a lot. I have friends who buy something new every year so they have way more halloween stuff.

I actually don't have any at the moment. I haven't had a party for halloween. It's not really celebrated over here. You can't get very many decorations and basically no one goes trick or treating. I took my two year old son this year with afew Mums and their kids. We went to about 15 houses. A few of them knew the other mums and were expecting us but almost everyone else told us they didn't believe in it and closed the door. I find it very difficult now that I have kids that there's no halloween. There's nowhere to get pumpkins, customes for little kids are hard to find, the same with decorations. It's gainning some steam here but not much. I want to come home one year just so my kids can have that experience. I loved it when I was a kid and I hate that mine don't get to do it.
