I love all scary movies!  My favorites are the Children of the Corn, The Hills have eyes, and It.  I love all the "classics"  like Nightmare on Elm St, Friday the 13th, and Halloween!  I recently watched The mist, that was really good with a really good ending!!

I used 2 watch Tales from the Crypt also. I think i found it scary when i was little cuz the voice, not really the Crypt Keeper. The laugh was like blood-curdling!

Its over...and I miss it already.

    POLTERGEIST

Spooks invade suburbia in this 1982 classic... Great cast including Craig T. Nelson and Jobeth Williams - and who can forget Heather O'Rourke in her signature role as Carol Anne - quote "They're Heeere!" and everyone knows what you're talking about.  Zelda Rubenstein as psychic Tangina Barrons also makes an impression.  Super Special Effects with all the paranormal goings-on and some great camera work as well.  Many great scenes throughout the film.   Also the music score from Jerry Goldsmith is memorable!   POLTERGEIST earned three Oscar nominations.

    Highly recommended!

    Followed by 2 sequels -

POLTERGEIST II - THE OTHER SIDE

( not too bad - different than the original, that is for sure - but it still has creepy moments )  This one expands the mythology a little more by introducing Native American elements and an 1800s religious cult with some new characters.  Plus you get to see what is beyond the children's closet as seen in the first film.

    POLTERGEIST III

(not very good at all) This one suffered a bit from soggy storytelling and not very scary in-camera effects using a lot of mirrors and makeup, and most of the original cast is gone - Nancy Allen and Tom Skerritt play Carole Anne's Aunt and Uncle - and the location is set in Chicago ( the John Hancock Building doubles as a high-rise apartment complex ).  Heather O'Rourke returns as Carol Anne, and sadly this was her last role - she died before the film was released.

There are those who are of the opinion that the POLTERGEIST movie series is under a curse.   This may be an urban legend , but it is interesting to know about.

Look up "Poltergeist Curse" in Wikipedia - or just do a search online for the term.

As of 2008 there is confirmation that plans for a POLTERGEIST remake are being developed... Why mess with success?  Will this production be "cursed" as well?

i loved the pale, creepy guy who wore all black. I cant remember what part he played but he was awesome! Think he passed away though.

Its over...and I miss it already.

    REVEREND HENRY KANE - Poltergeist 2 & 3

Julian Beck was an accomplished theater actor, expressionist artist, and poetry writer who appeared as Reverend Henry Kane in POLTERGEIST II: THE OTHER SIDE

He died of stomach cancer prior to the 1986 release of that film.

The role was recast for POLTERGEIST III -  Reverend Kane was played by actor Nathan Davis, but his voice was dubbed in by another talent, named Corey Burton.

One of the creepiest moments in POLTERGEIST II  is when Reverend Kane arrives at the house and demands to be let in - and he sings a song that goes: "God is in His holy temple, earthly thoughts be silent now..."

Brrr...   Gives me the shivers !!!!!!

scary movies scare me. i've watched very few in my life but i love japanese ones. yea, you have to read subtitles, but they are on a different level of scary, compared to american remakes

`cos I've been pulling up the nails

that hold up everything you've known .

For Halloween? of course the Halloween Movies, Michael Myers rocks. But all in all every horror movie ever made, they're  the best.

My favorite Halloween scary movie is of course Halloween! I love the old series but the new series is ok. I just wish Rob Zombie would make it more michael myers rather than inapropriate scences and language. But my favorite scary movies series is SAW! I love it because it's so clever. I think it's starting to die down though, after SAW III it started to lose it's technique. I also love it becuase it can actually happen and it's present time, not like in the future or in the 80's
