I was SO excited to pick up my costumes today after just ordering them on Wednesday!
Starting at the beginning...I found the site through airmilesshops.ca and figured why not get a costume and get points at the same time. Thinking this site would be crazy over priced I didn't have much hope of ordering anything nor did I really plan on it. As soon as I started to search the site I fell in love with it! It's easy to navigate, the prices were pretty amazing (at least the ones on sale) and how could I go wrong with free shipping?! So, I loaded up my basket with over 10 costumes I wanted and narrowed it down from there! That night I left items in my basket totaling $160!
The next day after work I came home to find one of the items was no longer avail in my size so that was easier. So, I had the Rydell Cheerleading outfit which I HAD to have and the other two were sexy ones so I asked for help from some boys and ended up getting the can can sweetie over the swinging sister. The order was placed and low and behold shipping was on time and I picked them up today!
I got home and tried on the can can outfit to only be EXTREMELY disappointed :( The outfit is NOTHING like it is on the site! The top is a sweetheart instead of straight across, there is NO puffiness at all to the skirt and it looks VERY cheap! The top has rouching on only one side and doesn't sit very well over the skirt. The top is also very lopsided on the vertical sections (it goes lower on one side than the other). I feel VERY strongly that Buycostumes.com should take a normal picture with the skirt down so the customer can see the costume as others would when the customer is wearing the costume because it's not like I am going to walk around holding my skirt up all night!
The Rydell Cheerleading costume though...OMG!!! SO AWESOME!!! The skirt is just felt and could be made yourself and you could search for the Rydell symbol and press it onto a white shirt yourself and add the red collor but to buy it for only $25...WOW! It'd prolly cost me the same to make it but add labour on there and well, this is just a great costume for the money and you FEEL just like Sandy!!! I did not want to take it off!!! However, I had to and I have to exchange it because there was over inking on the shirt from the sign and the shirt was over sewn into the collar. I called Buycostumes.com right away and was issued a new costume and return auth number right away with no hassle!!! Upon receipt of the returned costume they will refund my shipping as well.
Overall, the customer service was PHENOMINAL! The cheaper costume was MORE than I expected and the more expensive one left a little more to desire, however, if they just took a standard picture of the costume I would have been much more pleased because I would have known better what to expect.
