That's very cool. Around here it's understandable to start decorating outside really early because if you wait too long then you are putting lights up on your house in below zero weather and people would rather just put it up before it gets too cold.
We are actually the ones that moved away now that I think of it October. My siblings and I have all grown up in Michigan. My mom's family lives here but she doesn't have much to do with them. Then my dad's family all lives in Indianna. We used to go there the week of Thanksgiving or the week after Christmas and celebrate with them. Then as my brothers and sisters started moving out and my dad started getting sick (long story) we stopped going. My dad couldn't drive down and my mom wouldn't drive down. Then it was just my parents and me living in the house and we moved about a half hour away from our old house. So now they don't want to make the drive out here so much. Which is dumb but people here want to live like 10 minutes from eachother with gas prices the way they are. Anyway everyone has just decided that making plans with their familys and their in-laws is just too much of a pain and not worth it. I personally think that sucks.
