    Re: Expert Advice for Christmas!

Every year i get the kids together with ribbon of various widths, shiney and sparkily and make our own garland or chain links like you use to make when you were a kid in art class. the garland of all colors and shininess really enhances the look of your tree... AND it takes somewhat alot of time alot of time if you really wanted it to so the kids have to do FAMILY TIME. Starting the tradition when they are little makes them more interested in it so as they get older they appreciate it more and eventually will pass it on to their kids :)

That's a good idea to use the ribbons.  We have used paper before but the ribbons would make a much nicer presentation. We also have strung popcorn... but that usually ends up in me using the needle and the kids eating the popcorn! lol

Hi, what i do is get the see through ribbons, i have a theme of Blue and white, snowflakes and ice crystals. I have blue see through ribbon with snowflakes on it..i cut it in lengths big enough to make into a ribbon bow and twist-tie them on the end branches of the trees.
I have done in this with a red ribbon aswell, kind of the same idea as the store purchase mini ribbons for trees however thse look so much more pretty. I also add sented cones to the tree, and fake barrie bunches on the branches to give it that extra look.

I really like to get the very small snowflake ornaments and hang them from the ceiling around the tree, i usually like to do it from the very first haevy snowfall, its a kind of tradition for my daughter and i, though very new..lol.....My aunt also likes to use various xmas ornaments depending on color and she hangs them from the ceilings as well.
