Ooh, good question.

My favorite is probably Jacob's Ladder. But the scariest is probably The Exorcist. Others favorites: The Omen, The Shining, The Others, Ju-On (Japanese film that was remade into the American version, The Grudge), and Rosemary's Baby. And Psycho is great, of course. And most people don't find this one too scary, but there was one scene that made me jump out of my seat in the theater--The Sixth Sense (love it).

I don't think any Zombie movies make my lists mostly because they are all pretty much the same. There's an inherent lack of originality in Zombie movies as all have used the George Romero formula from Night of the Living Dead and mimicked it to the point of producing blatant copies.

 I like all of the Saw movies.  The first was the best.  There is actually a Saw V coming out. Can you believe that??

 Believe it or not they already announced a Saw VI as well...

I remember in the 1980s when franchises like Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St. and others were churning out sequels close to every year but I don't recall any movie series having a movie come out 6 years in a row.

They're milking the Saw franchise until it's completely dried out and nobody will want to see it anymore.

Sometimes it's good to pop out 2 or 3  movies in a franchise while the characters are fresh and the actors are all available to play the roles... but there's definitely something to be said with walking away for awhile to build anticipation for the next movie should there be one in the making later on.

In much lengthier examples than what I mean, Indiana Jones came back after a very long layoff and did great box office business. The rumored Ghostbusters 3 movie will be huge if it comes out even though the second Ghostbusters wasn't exactly great.

Freddy vs. Jason did well partly because of the battle concept but also partly because there hadn't been a new Freddy movie in 9 years.

 Hehe... I don't know why I didn't really like the second one as much. Maybe it was because of the annoying Dr. Poha character or maybe it was that Vigo wasn't nearly as cool as Stay Puft (Or Gozer).

My favorite part of the movie is the beginning when they go to a kid's birthday party and sing the Ghostbusters theme song and the kids want He-Man instead. Funny stuff. :)

Just last week my friend had scary movie night. I was forced to watch Rob Zombie's Halloween. I say forced because Michael Myers freaks me out. Just thinking about him makes me shiver.

Pet Semetary was pretty scary for me. I didn't want my cats near me when I came home after seeing it.

Some other movies are Night of The Demons, the remake of Night of The Living Dead, Scream, and Urban Legend. The other night I watched Sleepaway Camp for the first time in years. It's cheesy but it defintely has a whoa! moment at the end.

 i just can't handle scary movies. I get really paranoid & can't walk around my house unless someone is with me. The scariest movie i've ever watch was Saw 3 and i had nightmares for weeks!

But I'll tell you what around Halloween I really like watching the disney movies. Believe it or not. I'm 20 years old and Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown still get me in the spirit lol.

I completely forgot about Shocker!  Thanks for the reminder.  Although overall the movie is kinda cheesy.  I still love it.  From lines like, " Finger lickin' good", to the little girl's line when she's trying to fire up the construction equipment.  As sad as it sounds I've probably seen Shocker at least 30 times.  Thanks for bringing it up.
