    Wig Cap Alternative

I am costuming the play the Wizard of oz and our budget is about 10000 dollars. About 100 of the Cast members need wigs. Does anyone know An Alternitive for Wig Caps.

Swimming caps maybe? You could probably borrow them from a lot of people since swimming is so popular. You'd just have to make sure the wig covers the cap since they often come in odd colours, lol.

Why are you looking for an alternative to wig caps? I ask because wig caps are a very inexpensive way of keeping the actors hair and wigs neat.  If you’re not already talking to the people in the wholesale division of BuyCostumes.com you can reach them here.  Perhaps they can give you a volume discount.

Great idea Jalem. I would have thought that wig caps is the cheapest way to do it but when I was doing alot of dancing and we wore wigs we often just used hair nets over our head and at least we could pin the wigs on VERY firmly.

    Re: Wig Cap Alternative

I'm definitely going to need a wig cap because I suck at putting wigs on properly, lol. I thought there must be something wrong wrong with the first wig I bought because I couldn't get it to sit right or even hide my hair properly, but then a friend of mine tried it on and within seconds had it perfect. We've both got brown hair and it's about the same length so I know it wasn't to do with hair differences, lol.

I'll have to get her to show me how to put them on properly, because they always look so good on her when she does it right.

Yeah, I think wigs would be a great addition to a costume, particularly for a character who has unique hair!

    Re: Wig Cap Alternative

Erin they are so much fun I have a few, different time periods and different length, and colour.

I am wearing one in the vampire pic a Black with red streak GOTH ! I also hang them up in the closet

on the wall, it keeps them from getting knotted
