I bought some BLACK nail polish and lipstick yesterday to complete the look of the costume. My husband has a few comments to make and a few jokes until I informed him that the lipstick and nailpolish wasn't for me I am wearing blood red lipstick but for HIM as I had purchased him the Universal Frankenstein costume and he has to wear he black lippy and polish!

I only ever used a florescent tube 4' long and very very dark to get

I f so, how was it? How often did you reverse it? Sounds like a good idea, but deciding when to reverse it seems difficult and doing so seems kind of time-consuming. I'm not sure how I'd handle this :-) What do you think?

On Halloween what was the costume you saw the most?

For me it was the Candy Corn Witch and the Ruby the Pirate Beauty ones. I thought about being both, now I'm glad I picked Batgirl.

True Blood

Has anyone seen the new series "True Blood" on HBO? An HBO representative was at my job last month promoting the show, passing out 'True Blood" drinks. I find it to be different but interesting. It's from the creator of Six Feet Under. The series is set in Louisiana. The storyline is about how the Japanese government synthesized blood, to make it mainstream for vampires. This allowed the Vampire race to live in the general society because they no longer needed to kill humans for blood. Of course, that's not the case for the vampires, they still kill for blood. I saw the first episode Sunday night, it was pretty good.

Watch the show, you may like it.

Oh, and here's the "True Blood" recipe:You can make blood drinks. It's similar to a root beer float.

This is what you'll need: small paper/styrofoam cups(the # depends on the # of guests) rainbow sherbert 2L strawberry soda(Welch's or Sunkist) You need to fill the cup 3/4 full of sherbert. Then just pour the soda on top. It turns into a red drink.

Easy to make standing props

This is a tutorial on how to make a standing zombie prop. This is a rough guide to how I made mine

You will need:

Fun World brand Groundbreaker

Wood: '1x2' the length of the zombies pants plus about 5 inches. A square piece of wood, about 15"x15". 2 pieces of "1x2" to form supports for the bottom.

Pants and a shirt.

Paint and fake blood to add some more detail

One USPS flat rate box, the flatter large rectangle about 3 inches thick, or scrap cardboard.

What I did was cut one end of the long piece of 1x2 at a sharp point. Then I attached this piece to the square piece of wood and supported it with the two small pieces cut at angles to firmly support the upright piece. Now I took the pants and slid one leg over the upright piece of wood. To add a little more body to the groundbreaker I took the box and put it around the torso of the prop and nailed it into the styrofoam. Next I took the grounbreaker, box and all and stabbed it onto the upright piece of wood. Be careful! I then attached the pants around the box at the right height with duct tape and put the shirt on the prop. Now you can add more details, rip the shirt to show the ribs, add blood, get creative.
