Do you have any local party stores?  Here in the U.S. we have stores like Party City, it's a retail chain and they sell all of sorts of stuff that you could use.

You're right, it wasn't an original idea.  However, it is still a good idea.  A corpse bride always makes a good costume or prop.  I had an entire ghoulish wedding scene set up in my house this year.  I had the be headed bride, the dead groom, and a winged skeleton priest conducting the ceremony!

It's a shame because we all love Halloween and a good costume party, but because we all live in different parts of the world we can't have a party together, lol.

There have been a few new things for 2009, I imagine they'll come out randomly through the year. There were three new extremely revealing St Patrick's Day costumes :-P But there's also the new Watchmen masks which look good :)

Oh I do understand how he would really get into it too!! My husband and I went on a trip to the US and it just happened to be at Halloween, we had such a great time in hollywood during that time and for the rest of our holiday in Miami. Anyway when we came back home we decided to have a halloween party every year. And they are getting bigger and better as I get more and more stuff. This year i bought 2 lifesize props! We invite all of my husbands staff and they just love it and are really putting a great effort with their costumes.I actually posted some in the thread for costume photos under the heading Haslloween in Australia 2008. Feel free check them out.

    which props did you buy?

i have heard that halloween is spreading outside of the US.  i guess other countries have realized that they are missing out on a great time!

within the US as well, halloween has become huge.  it is only second to christmas now as far as spending goes.

Sounds cool.  So do you decorate outside or inside or both?  I think it's great that you are celebrating halloween and helping to spread the spirit.

Outside the front door and outside in the backyard where we have the party. It is quite warm in Australia then as we are heading into summer so it is lovely outside. we have a large undercover (alfresco) entertaining area. UWe are actually in the process of planning a bar to be built out thewre too so that would be great.

That sounds great!  So if I ever make it to Australia, I should look you up, right?  LOL!!!!!!!

Test tube shots are a great idea.  Maybe I will do that for my party this year.

Re: What are you wearing this year?

Usually I have a few people over to help hand out the candy and to enjoy the decorations, etc.  HOWEVER......  this year I am going to have a huge party!!!!  I have already warned everyone that they had better clear the date!  I think I am going to have the party the weekend before Halloween though.  My problem is that I usually get about 300 trick or treaters so I spend all night answering the door.  I actually want to take part in the party and enjoy the night!!!!  Plus, then I get to celebrate twice, hee hee hee.
