    Love for Halloween

What or who sparked your love of Halloween?

I always loved trick or treating and haunted houses as a kid but it wasn't until having kids that the spirit really took over. Now... my goal is to always be bigger and better than the year before.

    Re: Love for Halloween

Well since we don't celebrate Halloween here I suppose I'll say what sparked my love of costumes. I'm not sure if there was any one thing in particular, but any time we had to dress up in costumes for anything, as scarce as the opportunities were, I just had so much fun. I think if there was one thing to trigger me wanting my own costume shop, it was probably the first time I hired a costume since I was old enough to organise it and pay for it myself. I could choose it myself and add any accessories I wanted. That was when I hired the Queen of Hearts costume for my friend's Alice in Wonderland party. Soon after that I decided I wanted to open a shop one day.

I think it is nice that you have friends that like to have costume parties. It's good to have a passion like that.

Yeah, only a couple of my friends do. Kelly is one of them, another reason I love her to bits :)

We had the best time, didn't even think about it being halloween and then decided to visit universal studios on the day it was great fun then our hotel had a hallowwen party and of course we weren't dress up and eveyone scowled at us! And shot silly string at us!1 But I explained our situation and we had only been here for 2 days and my husband had meeting and we had no idea what was going on!! Dumb Aussies!!

    Re: Love for Halloween

hmmmm, i think it was a combination of things.  i have always LOVED disney and the haunted mansion is one of my all time favorite rides so that definitely goes hand in hand with halloween.  i always had an odd interest in weird things, i collected anything to do with eyeballs when i was a teenager, lol.  i was just attracted to the cool decorations and started buying them when I was in my 20's and it has become more and more of an addiction as the years have passed.  and i think the final straw was my significant other who said that his ex was the queen of halloween.  uhhh, excuse me????????  i think not!!!!!!  with that instigation i think i went a little nuts and had to prove that i was definitely far beyond her, lol.  seven years later and probably thousands of dollars, can't even begin to add it up, i think i have made my point!!  in the meantime, i have grown to love halloween more and more.  not just the decorating, but the dressing up as well.
