    Thanksgiving Brunch

Instead of having my mother's entire extended family over at dinnertime for thanksgving, we always have Thanksgiving brunch. My mom makes egg casseroles and the most delicious hash brown casseroles you have ever had. Recipes to follow!

Dinnertime is always just a close family thing. We always make lists of things we are thankful for and read them before dinner. Sometimes it is funny and sometimes there isn't a dry eye in the place.

One of my favorite sandwiches that you could adapt to a great finger food for a Thanksgiving brunch is a sandwich that has turkey and stuffing with cranberry sauce spread on the bread. DELICIOUS. You could make it on small dinner rolls, even.

Oh My! That really does sound delicious. I pretty much only eat the side dishes on thanksgiving. Not 2 much of a turkey eatter. Mayb 3 slices @ the most all day long.

    Re: Thanksgiving Brunch

we have an all-day party. in the morning, everyone gathers at one of my relative's house and help with cooking, etc. then we basically have the whole day to eat and chat. everyone is lazy and full the whole day, so its really relaxing.

`cos I've been pulling up the nails

that hold up everything you've known .

    Re: Thanksgiving Brunch

Normally me and my mom work on dinner all day. Then my siblings and their kids all go to their in laws for brunch spend the day there. Then we all get back together for dinner and spend a late night laughing and playing board games. But now I've got 1 brother and 1 sister that are not coming for dinner this year and 1 brother that might not come. Dinner is at my other sisters house and she is inviting her in laws. So it looks like me and my mom are having dinner with my sister and her in laws. I can't lie... I'm really not thrilled with the idea.

lol. Yeah things are tense. I was actually thinking right before I got on today that if things keep up like this I'm just going to go out of town for Thanksgiving next year. I have a really good friend going to school in Denver and he doesn't come home for break until Christmas Eve. I've been wanting to go visit him out there so I thought maybe next year I'll go out there and have Thanksgiving with him then we'll both fly back and spend Christmas here.

My sister deals with the same thing on the Holidays. She had my nephew with her first husband then when she got re-married she had 2 more kids so depending on who's year it is determines what they're doing.

I sure did! now I have to start thinking what I'm going to buy again... decisions decisions lol. But you know as long as you spend the holidays with people you care about and make the best of it then it will be a great holiday.
