I LOVE wigs! As far as masks are concerned, they are a great solution for monster costumes etc. when the wearer doesn't have knowledge of FX makeup. Celebrities and other historical figures, in my opinion, should really be done with makeup and wigs. Also, here's my version of Marie Antoinette...

I get too hot wearing wigs, so I use a combination of hairpieces and colored hair spray. I really like to sew fake hair to the band of a hat. The hair hangs down and you can easily take the hat/hair off whenever you feel too hot.
